p.831-842; Threlkeld complains that although Aborigines were British subjects they were not allowed to give evidence in any court of justice, Royal Assent not having arrived to a Bill passed authorizing their evidence in criminal cases, without an oath; reference to Billy.

L. E. Threlkeld, 1788-1859, a missionary in the Pacific Islands until 1824, 1825-1841 conducted missions to the Aborigines in the Lake Macquarie district, New South Wales.
